Allen ISD’s 2-year old $60M stadium may be closed for months

Allen Independent School District has closed Allen Eagle Stadium — a $60 million, 2-year-old football stadium — after finding extensive cracking in the concrete of the stadium’s concourse.

Plano-based Nelson Forensics, a national engineering and consulting firm, is investigating the cause of the cracking. The firm has already completed 10 percent of its investigation and confirmed pervasive cracking in the concrete of the elevated concourse in a preliminary review.
