Shooter at Victory Park is in custody; police lift lockdown

Dallas police apprehended a barricaded man shortly before 1 p.m. inside the Vista Apartments at 2345 N. Houston St. in the Victory Park area.

Police announced the situation was over with a tweet: “Suspect from the active shooter call is in custody and there are no injuries reported.”

Police earlier had locked down the Dallas Aquarium, the Perot Museum of Nature & Science, the W Hotel, Booker T. Washington Magnet school and other buildings in the area of Victory Park, downtown and Uptown. Northbound Houston Street from Lamar had been closed. At about 1 p.m., police said the lockdowns were lifted.
