SNAPSHOT: Timeline of the violence in Gaza

attack timelineThe violence in Gaza is entering its second week with no end in sight. A brief ceasefire initiated by Egypt failed to bring a halt to rocket attacks on Israel by Hamas. According to data released by Israel’s Defense Forces, 155 rockets were fired from Gaza on July 15th alone. Palestinian officials have said that at least 207 people have died in Israeli air attacks while Israel suffered its first fatality near the northern border with Gaza. The UN has said that over 18,000 people have now been displaced by the recent fighting.
