Richland College students shared their varied heritages and celebrated diversity at the college’s annual Intercultural Festival April 16. Students were encouraged to wear traditional clothing from their home countries, and many students staged native dance and musical performances. In addition, the 25th annual Peace Pole ceremony took place, a tradition on campus where the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” is written in English on one side of a pole and in other languages written on the other three sides. These languages represent the more than 75 different languages spoken by Richland College students.
