Book Drives for Africa is a student led charitable movement to change the world through books. Our goal is simple: to share resources with students who need them most and to learn more about students around the world.
Book Drives for Africa will:
• help to improve literacy, math, technology, art social studies and geography learning
• encourage pride in cultural heritage
• transport students to a world beyond their communities
• teach tolerance, empathy, gratitude and respect
• build a better understanding of global citizenship
• help students to have a better understanding of what it means to come to a new country for economic reasons
• give students the opportunity to learn about education in another country
• teach students leadership and let them have the experience of organizing
• build unity on campuses
• help students to gain confidence, improve communication skills and provide common ground to network and collaborate
• teach young leaders how to enable others to act, inspire a shared vision and model the way
• help students to see the gift in giving
Here’s what you can do to help:
If you, your club members or organization have gently used children books, novels or textbooks you can donate to this cause, please bring them to our event on September 19th at the White Rhino Coffee House. Your contribution will help send books to 44 countries in Africa. We’re making every effort to find books, find the money to send the books, and find good partners to help support the movement.
