Dallas Police Chief David Brown and Safer Dallas Better Dallas have announced they are accepting a $300,000 gift from 7-Eleven to fight crime in the Ross-Bennett and Five Points areas of Dallas. Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Chief Brown accepted this donation for crime fighting tools during a ceremony on Wednesday, September 12 in the Flag Room located at 6E North in City Hall.

The gift will go towards the purchase of three wheeled neighborhood patrol vehicles, bait cars, security cameras and other technology which will play a vital role in the continued reduction of criminal activity in these two areas of Dallas.

This gift is the first step towards the $3 million goal to help fight crime in all of the 27 TAAG (Targeted Area Action Grids) areas of Dallas.
