Congresswoman Johnson Responds to Court Decision on Texas 2025 Congressional Maps

Congresswoman Johnson issued a statement on the federal court’s decision. The court rejected Texas Republicans’ 2025 congressional maps. Johnson emphasized that the ruling protects voters and their communities.

“The court’s decision to throw out the 2025 maps is a win for voters,” Johnson said. She explained that thousands of Texans’ representation would have been threatened under the proposed maps.

Johnson criticized Texas Republicans for attempting to rig the system and silence voters of color. She highlighted that the maps would have divided communities and families across districts.

The court’s ruling preserves the 2021 congressional maps for the 2026 midterm elections. Johnson stated this ensures neighborhoods, schools, and families remain intact. It prevents lines designed to protect political power.

“I’m proud to continue representing Texas’s 32nd District,” Johnson said. She confirmed she is running for re-election to protect her constituents’ voices and rights.

Johnson concluded that keeping the current districts maintains fair representation. She reaffirmed her commitment to advocacy and standing up for her community’s interests in Congress.
