Speaking at the 2019 Dallas Cowboys Training Camp press conference, Jerry Jones has confirmed Ezekiel Elliott is officially a holdout. Jones continued to emphasize all players are under contract and expected to be in camp.

According to Jones, the team will not be providing contract status updates.

Elliott has one year, plus an option year left on his contract but given the fact he has led the league in three out of four seasons, he is seeking more money now.

Stephen Jones said, “We are not surprised,” adding that it is part of football.

Yesterday, Elliott was expected to be on the team charter, but he was not officially late until today when physicals were held. The team has reported this to the NFL and under the collective bargaining agreement, if Elliott does not report by Aug. 6 he will lose a year of eligibility accrued for retirement benefits.

The team can penalize him up to $40,000 per day he is late.
